My little brother and I went to see Rage Against the Machine last night since the parents wouldn’t let us go when we where in High School. Music was great. But the people watching was better I think.

Some good stuff I read out of the Wall Street Journal today:
— “I think it really exposes that we live in a police state” said a woman who gave her name as Loaf Owls, her age as 20, and said she was a professional clown. “Someone at the march said yesterday that anarchists are protectors of the people and that pretty much sums up why I’m here”
“We’ll protest the grass being green,” shouted Robert ‘Doc’ Wilson, 45, who said he is homeless, “I love protesting. My favorite cologne is pepper spray” —
Seriously, these people have either smoked way too much stuff laced with LSD or watched one too many Michael Moore films.
September 4, 2008 at 7:24 pm #709538The future Mrs. Koldfront called me.
She works in the Wells Fargo building. They are shutting down early because of the protesters.
Isn’t that lovely…the anarchists are now costing me even more money.
September 4, 2008 at 8:52 pm #709548crazy people.. and their kids.. whatdya do? I dont mind em though as long as they are peaceful… at least they are interesting… though I dont go in much for crowds and cities and such…. but the videos are quaint
as for politicians.. and all their left, right, center bull cr@p… I think its best to just ignore them and keep switching them up.. why have a two party system if ONE party is going to be in office all the time? maybe every other term only one party should “run”.. and we get to vote from them yahoos… then next time the other ones… cuz if you ask me.. Im not happy with any of them… they seem to mostly use name calling, finger pointing and empty promises to get elected and stay elected…
all I know is that Im NOT better off (in ANY way that I can see) than I was 8 years ago… I dont need anyone to tell me that.. which as far as Im concerned is all I need to know.. I dont even listen to any of their excuses/promises they wont matter anyway…
signed..
fed up with ALL politicians

These two guys had to be undercover cops.
The guy on the left looks like Tuckner! What’s he doing sitting on the wall?(Oopppp’s Ritter can have a field day with that one!) Sorry Chris!
Ritter! I leave the door that wide open for you and you do nothing? What does he have on you???

September 5, 2008 at 1:50 am #709606Rivereyes has a very valid point.
Think about it. 230 years ago, there was a bunch of protesting then, against a tyrant king who taxed the living snot out of a bunch of people, but gave nothing back.Protesting is our right and is allowed for the reason above….To PREVENT TAXING THE LIVING SNOT OUT OF US!
September 5, 2008 at 1:57 am #709607All the more reason to learn the facts about each candidate, and make an informed decision on who you will vote for.
March 25, 2012 at 9:14 pm #212272Mild winter, early warm spring…This is the makings for a good rebound for the birds.
Obviously if we receive extreme wet, cold or lack of moisture, that would negate the mild winter and early spring.
What do you guys think?
March 26, 2012 at 11:02 am #119543Things are setting up nicely here in Mn. SD has been extremely dry since last August so they could use some rain, at the central part of the state. Certainly looks positive right now. Hard to believe it’s still March though.
March 26, 2012 at 12:33 pm #119545you do know if there are fewer hens, they still can not produce very many birds. I’ve seen two hens in the last year down here in Iowa. More then anyone else I’ve talk to.
March 26, 2012 at 12:42 pm #119546No doubt that is a true statement. It will be a slow rebuilding process in many areas. However, if we can get two or possibly 3 good hatches this spring, that will go a long way to recovering.
What do you think has the lead to the major decline of birds in Iowa? Just weather related or is it related to lack of proper cover for the birds to survive? Something else?
March 27, 2012 at 8:04 pm #119581Kooty:
Not that I get down to IA much any more, but have a friend in La Crosse who does… It seems that the last three springs have been really cold and wet more than other things. Less CRP may be aiding, but I think its a lot more weather related to start with.
