I have been near Dunnell, MN tthe past few days chasing some birds. We are seeing some which is better than I expeted after hearing some reports. Yesterday I had a late start and we drove about 30 minutes to a spot where we have had good success in the past. Well, we found our first bird less than 100 yards from the truck. Once we put that bird in the bag we moved on. About 10 minutes we found another bird in some thick cover that fell once the dog, Sadie got him up.

I was feel very fortunate to get my 2 birds in about 30 minutes yesterday afternoon. I am now off to see if I can do it again this morning.

We hit a new spot this morning. Ended up flushing a covey of 8 or so birds and I took a double. We were done in 30 minutes.

Who is the big kid with you. Wow has the little man grown up. Congrats on the quick work of the birds. Nice to hear some positive reports. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews from SD.

Yep, next season Tyler will be able to carry an iron. I can’t wait.

    Cripes you are getting old…

I still remember many of my first pheasant hunts with Dad. Those were the days.
