In case any of you are headed to SD this weekend for opener, I thought I’d throw a little gas on the fire. This pic was taken in 2010, but when I stumbled on it today I thought it was appropriate to repost.

Good luck to anyone heading west. I’ll be out there, but I’ll be in a tree.

I probably take those birds for granted way too much. I talked to my dad last night, he’s got a busy weekend planned. His biggest client has 40 hunters starting on Thursday, that means he will deliver 250-550 birds a day, probably 3 drops a day. When I get home Friday night I’ll likely be helping catch pheasants. I’ll try to remember to get some pics for you guys.

I’ll be in SD Friday picking up Pup. I’m sure I’ll be barking and sratching the windows if we see birds. I better let my wife drive!
