My 4 year old lab got a scratch on his eye last thursday and he is still scratching at it and is not wanting to open his eye much. He has had scratches before and the vet gave me some drops. You think I can go hunting in the morning or should I skip it and go to the vet. A typical cattail injury. What do you guys think?

I am the king of eye scratch problems. My dog has done it many times over the years. Her latest was on Iowa pheasant opener and she has been out of commision ever since. She is laying next to me as I write this with cone on head after second procedure was performed last Wed at a specialist. You should take yours to the vet. usually the standard vet can fix it. At the very least you should be treating the eye with ointment which they will prescribe.
