    In all my years, Heard a rooster pheasant after dark! And I just heard 2! I actually jumped alittle as one of them was right accross the road from me. And this happened about 9:15.

    Chappy, this is ironic you posted this. Tonight walking back from my deer stand I heard 2 different roosters kackling back and forth. The 2 were about 400 yrds apart. Neither were close to me so it wasn’t like I spooked one out of roost. They carried on for about 5-6 minutes.

    They will talk all night long. Come to my dad’s place sometime.

    It was just strange, I’ve never heard it that late. I’ve heard it shortly after dusk,But not 3 hours into the night……

    It’s not super common for them to give up their location after dark. It’s generally if they get spooked by something. Although at my dad’s place, with 12,000 pheasants around, they never shut up.
