The MN Pheasant opener is Saturday. Where is everyone headed?

My Dad, brother, and myself will be headed to the Swift Falls area again. Some of our relatives and friends own something like 500+ acres of Pheasant heaven, and we are lucky enough to get invited back every year. My pup Jazzi has been to the game farm twice this fall and I’ve been taking her for a 3 mile run every other day, so she should be ready to go. I heard there is plenty of water out there, so we shouldn’t have any trouble with the dogs overheating in the warm weather. ROOSTER!!!

You are lucky. The lack of public land has pretty much turned me off to Pheasant Hunting in MN.

    Heading down by Flatlandfowler.

Rufus, Maggy and a good buddy of mine will be hunting Saturday at the HH. Then next week Rufus, Maggy and I are heading to Hoven, SD to hunt with Stacie’s family!

Good Luck to all that head out!

Ortonville for me and I second Suzuki. I’m stoked, but not too hopeful for a mittful of birds. Not enough habitat and lots of weekend warriors we luckily won’t see after this weekend. Good luck to all

Amen to that. I can’t wait until it gets cold and we get some snow because the number of hunters drops off tremendously. Some of the public areas I hunt near Paynesville get walked 5 times per day, so I put the dog on a leash and walk to the back corner and start hunting. I usually get my crack at 2 or 3, and whether or not I hit them is a different story.

It’s not about how many you shoot, it about how many you shoot at.
