I’m looking for some game farm ideas for pheasants. I just went to one Saturday that was very nice but a little far away to visit as often as I like. I’m training a pup and need to get out as much as possible this fall. Please give me some ideas within an hour of the Twin Cities. Preferably the east side. Thanks.

Howdy Suzuki, Went here over the weekend and plan many returns. http://www.fishandgame.com/rrhuntclub/ It’d be a bit over your hour drive, but it seems darn reasonable compared to the prices a friend quoted before he joined here. Anyhoo, the link gives the prices. I had far too much fun shooting the sporting clays, so my wallet will likely see a $150 membership hit in a week or two. Another bud says the Metro Gun Club over in the Blaine\Circle Pines area may suit your drivetime needs better. Ever get the bimini top for your boat?

September 29, 2003 at 1:23 pm #219Thanks alot Shawn. That looks like a nice place. It is a tad further that the one I went to in Wisconsin but the membership fees are $250 cheaper!! I think I will keep visiting differnt places like this as a non-member this year and decide on permanent location next year. No matter what I must keep getting my dog out.
On the bimini top: I don’t have it yet but there is no doubt whatsoever I will own one next year. The days of frying in the hot sun or worse, not going out, are over.September 29, 2003 at 1:23 pm #258761Thanks alot Shawn. That looks like a nice place. Do you ever get a chance to run the DNR properties in Bayport. Lots of birds there now, before the hunters get there in two weeks. I’m up there a couple nights a week now running the dog. There are pheasants, you just can’t shoot them. If you live in Woodbury its only a 10 min drive. As for game farms, I know Wings North is open to the public, located in Pine City.

September 29, 2003 at 3:31 pm #150Thanks Erik. I was aware of those properties but did not know there were decent pheasant numbers there. Very good idea. I would like to get in there before the war starts.
