Midweek Roosters

I made another trip south last week. The corn was still up and there is a lot of it left. We found our birds near water, to be honest, the first rooster I shot on the trip, I was in knee deep water. We got very wet on our first field, but that’s where the birds were at, so thats where we hunted. We had some stong winds and the dogs had no problems finding birds for us. Nose into the wind and off we went, running at times behinde the dogs, sometimes the run yeilded a rooster, other times, just short of breath only to watch a hen bust out of the grass. We again had 3 dogs working the field and it was a blast to watch them. We had a great day with the dogs and the shooting was not so bad today either. A great midweek trip
