thats one of the best reports from up there that has heart in it–it was great and darn glad you pulled through– you have tales to tell through the years,; hope you took pixs and noted them– someone might call you a bag of beans someday if you dont put in print with pixs

    hi Steve,
    sounds like a tough weekend.
am thinking in better weather, and during mid March, things would be ALOT better,
I think the Crappies would be good in mid March also.

So who is going? I will be out Sat and Sun in North Central Iowa. The reports I have heard from my Uncle, who farms, have not been real good, but I am hoping for the best.

With corn prices being what they have been the last few years I heard alot of farmers are planting fence to fence and tilling what grass that was there under. It isn’t like the old days when there was plenty of cover along fences and the pheasants were really good.

I will be down, back to my old hometown of Buffalo Center Iowa. Looking forward to it. We have always had our limit before 11:00. I think that is going to be a challenge this year. My dogs first full year and looking forward to it.

We got 8 between 5 guys. Pretty bad. We ended up planting some bought roosters and quail later in the day on sunday to help keep the dogs motors up. They worked alot of ground not seeing many birds.

Will be wonderful hunting come Dec. That is when the corn hopefully wiil be out…….

Went Sat and our group shot 2, on Sun we shot 1. Lots and lots of corn still in, so I am hoping the birds are hanging out in the corn, and the late season hunting will be good.

We don’t even bother going out until Mid-November. Wait for the fair weather hunters to get their fill and for the crops to come out. Two weeks and counting (hopefully).
