    I’m heading down to the Honey Hole to pull some double duty and get out in MN for the first time this year chasing Ditch Chickens!

    Anyone else heading out? The weather should be nice and cool again this weekend to help out the ol ‘boy Rufus. Hopefully at least the beans are out down there and Gut can shoot straight so we can drop da on some Roosters.

    Not chasing any birds this weekend:( Planning on being on the Croix chasing eyes one last time and then winterizing the boat and getting everything else done. This is the last weekend I’ll be in town until Dec. 5th weekend. Lots of hunting coming up though.

    I’ll be out hunting near Willmar this weekend. My cousins have been in the combine attempting to get the crops out and kicking the birds out. I have permission to hunt 180 acres of CRP, sloughs, and treelines so I’m hoping for the best.

    I’m heading out north of Benson. Last weekend was the worst opener we’ve had up there. Never shot a gun b/w 4 guys. Saw 20 hens and 1 rooster! Hoping the standing corn is the culprit, but the roadside counts do say that area is down drastically! Will know more in a week or two if the combines ever get rolling with all this rain!

    Normally traveling through that area, I see lots of birds. Not one recently, so I suspect the roadside counts may be more accurate than you like.

    I’m down in Sherburn, NOW. It has been tough going to find birds. We had 1 runner going last night in the tall grass but never got’m up and he duped us

    I’d guess that maybe 30% of the beans are out and 5-8% of the corn is out.

    We’ll give it a go again this afternoon then dinner at Bergen!!! If you’ve ever been to Bergen then you’ll know how good the steak is.
