What is your preferred shot size (lead) for early, mid, late season SD Pheasants?

I’ll be there 10/17-21 and then again hopefully mid December

lead? 5 or 6… go big or go home!

last year i shot some old duck steel loads – 3″ #4s… and they worked well for me.

the farmer’s land we hunt on said that he wouldnt go out with anyhting less than lead #4s in 2 3/4″

    lead I would say 4 or 6’s in 2 3/4″ in 3″ I would say 4, 5, or 6 if using steel I would go with #2 either way.

Good luck on some awesome rooster hunting!

Not that critical for lead in my opinion. 5’s will always be fine. Either direction in hi-power work too.

I just buy 4’s, like the penetration power a bit more. It doesn’t matter if you are shooting 4’s or 6’s if a bird gets up under your feet, you gotta let them get out a bit.
