I don’t post here very often but who is excited for this weekend to chase some birds around. I took the dog out last last night and we jumped two roosters in ten minutes so hopefully that will continue this weekend. I think it will be a tough weekend with the fact that almost no corn is out, but it is great to start how about you guys.

Normally I miss the MN opener because if falls on the SD opener. The last two years have been different. So, yes, I am getting excited for the MN opener. I have been really suprised at how many birds I am seeing. Most are still very young and some can’t even fly yet. I have a feeling there is a lot more birds than indicated by the roadside counts. There seems to be a lot of renesting that occured this year. Looks good

Excited is an understatement Heading to far south western ND tomorrow morning. There’s a winter storm warning out there, possibly 6 to 10 inches of snow. Roosters in the snow, in October no less….doesn’t get much better!!

I have two more weeks till the opener in Iowa, pickens will probably be slim (east central) and I’m still going slightly crazy cus the days cant go by fast enough. You would think I’d be excited about early muzzleloader this weekend, every thought of a deer is followed closely by dreams of flushes and cackles…good luck guys, i’m jealous

I took the dog out last night on some public land a mile south of the house to try out his new blaze orange vest and jumped two roosters in fifteen minutes, both were pointed by the dog so needless to say I can’t wait. One of the birds was so young if he hadn’t jumped 10 feet in front of me I may not have known he was a rooster, something to keep in mind as there seems to be a lot of youngs one’s running around. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE
