For the first time in 12 years, I am going to miss opening day
Kids have a soccer jamboree and then the family is headed to Elko speedway for the eve of destruction rain make-up.

Sunday, we are headed out grouse hunting in the morning and pheasant hunting in the evening.

I gotta believe it’s gonna be a bit tough cuz the harvest simply hasn’t started in our area yet. I imagine southern MN some beans are going out, but I bet very little corn has been combined yet. Late, wet spring. Good luck all, I’m chasing upper Miss tanks, I mean smalleys.

I will be hunting local for the weekend and then off somewhere south Monday and Tuesday. Keep an eye on our hunting partners, looks to be a warm opener for most of the state. Good luck everyone!

I will end up working on some things around the house, then at about 6:30 getting out, shoot my two birds and go home

Early season means hunting less, but at better times. Wait in the truck until you see them fly out of the corn
