I am looking for a place in South Dakota to head out pheasant hunting for a few days this fall, for myself and 4 buddies. With the recent flooding here in Iowa we could be in for a tough bird season. I’m looking for a place to go that is reasonably priced with good hunting no fancy places or anything plush. We all have our own dogs and everything we need just looking for a good place to hunt for a few days. We have no problems even giving some local farmers some money to hunt. Just looking for some information on where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I go around Miller S.D. every year and hunt public land and ditches for the most part…We have met some good people that allow us to hunt their private land as well…We stay at the city campground in my camper. Camping is free but they accept donations. We have been going for 10 years now and never have problems getting our birds. There are numerous places in town you can stay…small hotels, rental houses, etc…but we enjoy the camping part of it as well as hunting. Its a great little town and hunting is awasome…good luck…Jay

That’s funny. I quit hunting Iowa and only hunt SD. A couple days in SD is like hunting all season here in Iowa.
