I heard that one on the radio the other day and just about drove off the rode I was laughing so hard, it was a duck hunter saying he wasn’t one of those chinese chicken chasers, well I am. I wasn’t going to post until Sunday but we had such a good day today I thought I would warm you guys up for the weekend.I took my neighbor Mike and his 3 year old English Setter Jala along with Lindy and I. These too are both 3 year olds and are really coming into there own. I went back to were I left off last weekend, I had flushed three birds and got my last one so I knew there were at least two more roosters in there to be had. With a 14 below wind chill I thought we should walk alittle before we hit the good spot and I’m glad we did, it took a half a hour to get warmed up. If you are going this weekend bring a facemask because it is cold when your going into the wind. After our warmup we hit the goods and it only took an hour to bag our limit, 4 nice points, 4 nice shots and 4 nice retrieves and it was all over As we left the farmer was out and said if we wanted to hunt again come back any time I have never hunted the whole spot yet, we have just never finished it before we limited out. It looks to be a good weekend with the snow coming and there are still birds to be had if you don’t mind the cold. Get out there and get at it

Sounds like a great hunt. We got four yesterday, but it was not easy. They were running all over in the frozen sloughs with nothing slowing them down. They flushed way out of range. The key was to push the birds into the thickets where they were forced to hold a bit better. Cant wait for the snow, just not too much snow.
