I got a chance to get my Dad down hunting for a few days last week. It was nothing short of a great time. We got a late start on Wednesday and did not start hunting until 1pm. The first field that we hit was loaded with hens, and 2 roosters that came to the bag, after a couple of fantastic points, and two good shots. I had a friend that was down in the area hunting for the day and we meet up in the afternoon to hunt the evening together. We worked our way through some standing corn, only to put one more rooster in the bag. We moved on to some nice grass, which was our best move of the day. It was loaded with birds, and lots of roosters. We finished up our day with Chad’s dog Josie catching our last rooster of the day. We headed back to the truck, cleaned birds, and had a few cold ones while listening to rooster after rooster come back into the grass, cackling like mad. It was awesome to sit on the tailgate while the sun was going down, have a beer, and listen to all those birds. It is all about memories, and this one I will not forget, it was amazing The hunting was good, the dogs run great, and the beer was cold. Having a chance to spend some serious father son time with my old man, was the best of all. Thanks Dad……Next time I won’t shoot all of our birds
