We went out to the attwater, Grove city area on Wedsday and we only saw 4 birds. 3 hens and one rooster. The rooster got up on a line fence between the public and some private land. It got up on the posted land side so we did not shoot.

I went back out to that area again on thrusday just me a the dog. We saw 12 birds. I should have been done in the first 1/2 hour. The first group of birds we saw there were 4 roosters and 2 hens. They were in a small group of cattails and my gun got cought up in them. After I was able to get my gun up I had two roosters in my face and when I pulled the trigger nothing happened. I forgot to take the Safety off. Man the look my dog gave me. I will not do that again. All the other birds we saw were in the switch grass and they were geting up about 50 yards out.

Too bad your daughter didn’t get a bird, but it sounds like you atleast got to see a few flushes. How much of the corn is down in that area? I know my relatives South of Willmar are about done harvesting, but I might not make it that far before I’ll have to pull over and chase some birds.

The corn is coming down fast. If the weather holds I think most of it will be out sometime next week. There are a lot of birds out there.

lip I will take you up on that after deer season. Boy my dog got wore out these last few days. He even did not want to get out of bed this AM to say goodbye when I left for work. I hope he sleeps all day today so he ready to go for tomarrow. We will be heading down south of waseca to the family far with my brother and father. good luck lip in SD this weekend.
