I’m looking for a good map that shows MN public hunting land. I got a new dog this year and need to get him on birds. The FW told me if I got the dog I better bring home some birds this year. So any help would be great. I do not want her to get mad at me.

If that does not work try this out. I am 100% that you will be able to bring some chickens home!

“public hunting areas for 46 states – Alaska, Hawaii, Washington State and Wisconsin not included”Gotta have Wisconsin.

Mn Public hunting, decent map but can be somewhat confusing to locate small areas, updated every few years. The upside is that it is cheap.Prim Maps, right from the MN DNR. Great maps but can get expensive when looking at many areas through out the state. Updates are every four years on a rotating basis. Some areas are done year 1, some areas are done year 2, some areas are done year 3,some areas are done year 4, and then it starts over again.
If you know what county you are hunting you can get its Plat Book. Updated every 4-5 years, it contains every person that owns land in that county as well as every public hunting area. A nice book to have if you are up to knocking on some doors asking for permission. The down side is the books can run from 25 to 50 dollars
As much as it pains me to say:
I have to agree with Bigfife
Sportsmans Connection Atlas
Dan was nice enough to show me one this spring and all I can say is WOW
The state is cut into thirds and has a book for each section. How they decided to separate the state is strange though, it is the best map that I have seen so far. It even breaks down each public hunting area into percentages of different cover offered. The details are fantastic. I do not know when or if they will update though.
As you can probably tell up to date maps are a must for me as the state adds areas each year, thanks to organizations like Pheasant Forever.Ron
