bad luck this year

    my dad and i went hunting this year and didnt even see one pheasent i think hawks are the prob. and the bird pop. is goin down i hope it is better next year.

    we haven’t done well in NE Nebraska this fall for the most part either.

    I don’t blame the hawks though. I think it’s habitat habitat habitat and weather. Predators play some role but they wouldn’t produce a swing this bad. Plus guys start saying “hawks and owls” then they start shooting them for fun which is very uncool and illegal.

    Our CRP is aging, less acres, cleaner fields, more chemicals, etc. Plus hail storms and dry weather are tough to beat to. People don’t realize that ag is very aggressive against insects, those insects are what pheasants and chicks live on in the summer. Plus, there are some studies that eating insecticide pellets and bugs exposed to insecticides aren’t helping either.

    But then again, more likely its habitat
