Well we didn’t set the world on fire but we did find some pheasants near Pipestone. On a positive note, we did capitalize on our opportunities. As a group we only let one rooster get through us and went 7 for 8 on Friday and Saturday. Sure was nice walking weather. This photo was from our Friday AM hunt.

congrats on your success…I was out Thursday and Friday morning in central IA and our group only got 6 birds total…It was too dang hot…don’t get me wrong I am not asking for 20 degrees and windy, but there were many birds that were flushing very wild and that heat is tough on the dogs…it is a blessing to be out there with friends and family regardless of the weather

Your correct, it’s hard on the dogs in hot weather, you have to really watch them. I will be down in Iowa the last week in Dec. I hope there will be birds left! My hunting partner and I were out in Southern Dakota county on Sat PM for 1 1/2 hr and got our 4-bird limit. Both my dogs had the honor to each point a rooster for me. The hunting has been GREAT the last few years, praise GOD. All you hunters, BE SAVE!
