I like my ID elk hunts I can hunt grouse, yotes and small game as well as elk but of course for a price of just short of $500, With my CO elk tag as long as the tags open I can shoot all the yotes I want. THey do make good targets to check zero with

I would pay that kind of money to hunt something such as elk. Especially when all the other small game is included with the tag.

Yes the Iowa fees are high but you could also spend that cash in a short time in a casino or pulling tabs etc.etc. in exchange for a few days of enjoying the outdoors. I grew up in NE Iowa and enjoy coming home to hunt deer and pheasants. My theory is to get the doe/small game license($250) and PARTY hunt with my buddies and still have a chance to harvest a trophy.
