We were down in Grinnell for the opener and had a blast, but I’m looking for somewhere a little closer to home. How are the numbers in NE Iowa? If anyone has any suggestions in this corner of the state please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Matt

I was hunting NE blackhawk county on Monday and saw plenty of birds. Since i was by myslef, w/ no dog, they just ran on me like crazy and i only was presented w/ one shot, which i bagged a bird with. I’d say our pheasant numbers are fine up here. Oops, i mean, they are awful, i walked all day and saw nothing but hens, no rooster, definatley no birds in NE Iowa…
