Got down there Friday night about 8PM and met some friends we were hunting with,but hav’nt seen since last year. Played some eucher while watching the Wild and The Baseball game.Anyway.Got up Sat. morning and went in to see June at Nellies Cafe in Walnut grove.If your ever passing through and need an inexpensive good breakfast.That’s the place! Got out to some private land that has not been hunted yet……..And it showed! 7 guy’s 3 dogs including my new one that I was’nt sure I was going to keep after openner. Anyway.We walked into this field and a hen immeadietly flushed in front of the others. Then it was a Malay!!!!!!! Guy’s were shooting and yelling and it was a free for all! Except for me and Cooper! 
We were on the end and could’nt get a bird to raise or nothing! He was’nt even getting any scent!I thought …here we go again… I made the comment to the guy next to me that the dog that needed the most work could get a flush! About 2 minutes later he went on a point! When I say he went on a point,it was one of the prettiest I’d ever seen! ROOSTER! 1 shot from the Verona over and under and down he came!Found him and took about 30 yards…Point! Sweet I’m thinking…..This is really cool! I’ve never hunted behind pointers before…….. ROOSTER! another shot and he folded! H’e pointing everything in the field! Cool.this is fun! He pointed and I shot 4 roosters in about a 3 min. span! I have never shot like that before. I took 6 shots Sat and Sunday and got my 6 for the weekend thanks in part to my new Best friend! Cooper…….Heres to you buddy! I’ll post pics tonight.
