I wont make the Mn opener. I hope to get out at least once in western Minn the weekend after or a week day. Time is so tight right now. I am however penciled in for Iowa opener.

My GSP has started growling at me and acting threatening whenever I get near the boat. October and November should really be 60 day months. There is so much stuff you can do its impossible to do everything.

I’m fishing next Friday and Saturday nights on Mille Lacs. Then it is down to around Mankato for Sunday to do a ltitle warm up before we head to SD for the following weekend of blasting roosters. I’m hoping to get Stacie to shoot her first bird and have it be over our dog Rufus.

Another pic for you boys from late season ND a few years back.

I will not be hunting next weekend, but I am jacked up to get down south. Here is a shot from last year, on the first snow of the year. It was 2 great points from the dog, and two dead roosters in the game bag.

There is a ton of beans being pulled right now, and the corn will follow shortly after

Makes for some top of the line cock hunting

Me and the mutt have been getting in shape for some all day huntathons in the thick stuff. There is nothing better then watching the dog lock up on point

Thanks, you got my blood pumping, Im ready to

Not to burst anyone’s bubble but the corn will probably not be coming out as fast as you think. I just talked to my dad in NW IA and he said the corn is still plenty plenty wet and nobody is in a hurry to get started.

Good then when I go down in Nov. the hunting will be great and the opener crowd will be long gone. Standing corn= lots less birds and the guys get discouraged very quickly…Good for me

Nice picture Bob! Very artfully done. I’m hoping Daisy the GSP will sit still long enough for me to get some pictures of her and some roosters this year.

Bring on the birds. I went to the game farm on Saturday to loosen up the rust. I will be hitting the Benson area this weekend, and then on to Marshall for a few weeks.

I took the dog out for a walk to some public land last night. The dog pointed 5 roosters, 3 hens, and I had another 4 birds flushing wild

Great night for a walk, and it makes it even better to know next weekend I can give em he!!
