Is there anywhere in SE MN where a guy can hunt grouse? Friend of mine thinks he can shoot one I don’t think so scooter

15 year ago or so, I used to hunt them all the time around Chatfield and around the Rushford area. Where we hunt around Chatfield, I’ll be it’s been at least 8 years since I saw or hear a grouse. Coyotes

Used to gettem about ten years ago around Rock Dell area while pheasant hunting. Always seemed to find them around the grassy areas. Havent hunted since then, but i would imagine there would still be a few around here. But I know the coyotes have increased in that area also so its hard to say?????

Yep, that was my guess too (10-15 years ago) You would think with areas like the Plainview Bottoms, Whitewater, Alma…there would be some. I have also heard that the turkeys drive them out, along with all the coyotes. Thanks for the info guys.

There is a bunch of state forest land around Rushford. That might be a good place to start.
