These birds are from central SD. The old man raises about 12k a year. This is his first batch for the season, another 1500 arrive on Thursday. He buys them at 1 day old. I’m always amazed how full of life these birds are at 1 day. It’s no wonder they survive in the wild.

It’s the only way Kooty has a shot to down any birds in the fall. Come Fall, they let little Koots in the Barn with a 10 gauge and a box of shells. On a good day Kooty can come out of the barn with a limit of birds and one or two shells left. The bad part for Kooty is, he ends up repairing the holes in the barn the rest of the day. Man, does his ol’man get pissed Darn it boy, you can flock shoot and hit 4 in one shot, whats your problem SON? That boys he’s just plain dumb.
