Now that deer hunting is over and the duck hunting is slow I plan on making use of my Mn. pheasant stamp. I will be hunting the Lake Benton/ Arko area. Anybody have any comments on the location or late season in general? Thanks in advance!

I hunt around Marshall. The birds on public land are getting very wise. I have seen a ton of people out hunting this year. I am sure the snow will change things. The birds should hold a little tighter now.

Thanks for the reply Dan. I imagine that the increase in hunters is due to the reports of more birds. How are things at S.W. State? I haven’t been there in over 30 yrs.

yellowdog, the great SW University is still rockin, only it is called SW Minnesota State University now. I am the President of a sportsmans group at school and I work at a sporting goods store. I hear tons of hunting reports and most people say the same thing. Tons of birds, but only a couple within range. My boss went out today and saw 300 birds, but only had a shot at one. I will be out Friday afternoon and Sunday, so I’ll put up a report.
