Is anyone else pumped to go and shoot some roosters this weekend? I will be in West Central MN when the clock hits 9am.
I went out to the game farm this weekend. Gave the dog a workout and touched up on the shooting skills. The new pup did OK, but definitely needs some more work. The shooting skills are always a work in progress, and the work continues.

That’s why I like hunting with you

I am getting really exited for opener. Hopefully I can get down to your neck of the woods and we can hunt together again

I was out in western Minnesota this weekend, on the long walk to our duck hole the dog kicked up two roosters.. Hopefully this will be a good one. There’s ALOT of corn still standing, but will see.

Yee HAw, the best hunting of the year is almost upon us. Hunting pheasants is the greatest thing out there. Took the dog out over the weekend on the fourwheeler to cover some ground and check cover. There is an awful lot of corn/beans still in the ground. Should make for a slow opener. That is good though cause all the wanna-bes will think hunting is bad and go back inside to watch football and leave the real hunters alone.

With the new late season hunting, it just gets better and better. Have fun this weekend, be safe, and post any good pictures this time next week.

Anybody elses DOG been acting weird ! Mine is a freaking psychopath here the last week. I think he needs to see a shrink, what a weirdo. He has just been doing weird things constantly since the cold snap. One day all he did was sit a foot away form me and stare, all day all night. I woke up in the morning to find him next to the bed a foot away from my face staring at me ! I think he know what is aobut to happen, with the increase activity of Bike Rides/ Wlaks every day , increased obedience training, and all the fetching going on.

I think he is ready to Rock! I just hope it stays half way cool this weekend

IT is that time to drop the Hammer and Shoot some Roosters!

Oh yeah PUTZ , where is this IDA only hunting sanctuary you are posting for us all

I am going to miss the opener this year . Not to worry though cause I’ll be in no’dak chasing the all mighty roosters . Leaving thurs. night to head out, Should be a good time. The dog hasnt got excited yet, I think she’s a little slow (maybe like her owner) . She never gets excited until the gun is out, the kennel is in the truck and were on the road headed for the field

I have to work on the opener and on Sunday I am hitting Minnetonka with a friend of mine from Eagan to chase Musky and Pike. I will be off work all that week so if someone wants to get together during the week let me know, I have an awesome pointer but not allot of places to hunt.

Unfortunately, this place is about 200 miles west of here and doesn’t work well for a day trip. We hit it pretty heavy with 3-4 weekends of pheasant hunting and 2 weekends of deer hunting so it doesn’t get much rest. But who knows what may happen in Dec.

Burbach, that is where these birds were shot. Just outside of Linton, ND. Man that day was probably one of the best days I have ever had a field chasing Roosters. Doing it with your best buddy, friends and watching my dog work, it just doesn’t get any better than that, with snow on the ground to top it all off. I couldn’t guess the number of birds we saw that day, but it was easily over 400
