Good to hear there are people that still hunt squirels.I think it is a dying sport.Besides that there doesnt seem to be many squirrels around the Whitewater area near Winona Mn. Sounds like fun though

Not that many people squirrel hunt. Find a piece of woods with food (nuts or corn field nearby). There are so many squirrels that just sit there and look at you as the scope is being placed on their head.

Growing up there were more people squirrel hunting. Now it’s rare to find any squirrel hunters, but you do know when you hunt in an area where the squirrels have been shot at with a shotgun instead of a .22 rifle.

I also like to get out and do a little squirrel hunting with the .22. The squirrels on my deer hunting land are pretty much easy to get since they are not hunted. They are huge too. Every once in awhile I take my double bull blind out and hunt from it. The squirrels have no clue where the shot came from, and soon they all come back out after you shoot one. With the snow on the ground they are a lot easier to see. Lately, I have not seen too many out running around, probably due to the cold??
