Today I had the pleasure hutning with two buddies that I used to hunt with alot more. Chris and Brian! Brian and I used to hit the field and Game farms with our two Black Lab Pups the first year or two every chance we got. They hunted side by side and we shot a ton of birds over them those 2 years. They are now over 5 and we try to get together a few times each year, but it seems once is all that it happens 
. Chris brought his chocolate Lab Trial along. We seen a ton of birds today easily over 40, but htey were skiddish getting up 100 -200 yards ahead. We work hard for about 4 hours, got 5 birds shot 2 others but never found them and had a couple of missed opportunities. We visited the old Honey hole down by Mankato. Weather got a little warm for December but it was a great day to be out with good buds and great dogs 
We decided to call it a day before 3 pm and come back another day! Above are a few pics taken. I’m headed for ND for a week of chasing Monster Bucks and those wiley roosters! Unitl next time!
The bird in Brians hand, he is saving for a possible mount. I have been shooting a bird or two the last couple times out that are great birds with tail feather between 20 to 22&3/4″ and decent spurs.
