A few of you guys might know that my T-Giving day group harvested a partial albino rooster last year. This was the first time I’ve ever had seen this type of rooster after many years of upland hunting.
I picked up the mount last night. My digital is very cheap so have patience with these pics.
I also want to say thanks to Sean Wright and Greg Hartmann for the last 2 years of hunting. You guys are always welcome to hunt along side myself and my dogs. The Penn St. posse will not be able to make their annual Iowa fall trip because of a serious injury to Greg’s dog Maggie.I hope that the new pup is as good as Maggie Greg.Look forward to hunting next year with you guys if it works out.

Can you tell me if his nostril has been pierced all the way through? If not it would have a small membrane still there! Is the area you hunt an area that is stocked either by DNR or private club? I only ask because of a somewhat vested interest. You can send me a message if you would like more detail.

Great mount Ryan. Glad to see you have it back. If you don’t have any room for it at your house, I’m sure I can find a spot some where in mine to show off your bird. I will make sure that you get full credit

CARP KINGS QUESTION ON THE NOSE MEMBRANE THING IS BECAUSE PEN RAISED PHEASANTS TYPICALLY HAVE BLINDERS ON THEM AND THE PIN TO HOLD ON THE BLINDER GOES THROUGH THE NOSTRIL THUS BREAKING THE MEMBRAIN. BUT WHEN A TAXIDERMIST MOUNTS THE BIRD THE NOSTRILS GET CLEANED OUT ALSO BREAKING THE MEMBRAIN. IM SURE THAT WAS WHY HE QUESTIONED WHERE IN IOWA YOU SHOT IT.

Picked up another rooster this morning that had a little bit of white in it.After pics with the dog I noticed that 3 of his tail feathers were pure white on the last inch of each. This rooster was taken only a half mile from the mounted one in the above pics.
