Well I havent posted much in a while because fishing has been just plain BAD. Biggest culprit lots of strong COLD fronts lately. 36 degrees yesterday AM….whew.
I did get out though with my good buddy Rich Clarke and try for Smallies. We caught a few but they were pretty much “peanut sized”….biggest about 14”. Heres a nice pic of a typical remote U.P. boat landing.

    Anyone else doing good?

Looks like a lot of obstruction in that water Tom. Just curious, how many props do you go through in a season?

This is canadian shield topography….lots of rock!
I’ve only damaged one prop in the last two years on my outboard. The waters are crystal clear where I fish and I am very careful. I seldom troll inland so I guess that minimizes the danger.
We drift and cast to shoreline and underwater structure. The lake in the picture has only Bass, Walleye, and crappie in it, but normally is Bass Heaven. I’ve had several 100 bass days here on shoreline presentations. Theres rarely another boat on the lake. I love it!

    Bass, walleye, and crappie. Gee!
Maybe you need some carp, sheepies and dogfish to break up the monotony?
