Ok….Talked to Paul Delany today and here is the skinny….

For $27 per person…he will take us out, transport those who need it,with our own equipment..to an area where we have the best chance to catch our limit….
    I’m renting a heated shack myself…..$43 per person….

I told him that I would call Friday to actually book a date with how many…so…Now comes the real planning………. waytogo

I’ll cough up $27 for the transportation to a spot. I’ve got gear and shelter but no ATV or snowmobile.

So your saying if I have myself and 2 of my kids it will be $81 bucks…ouch…that coughing is gonna hurt!

I am also ok with the $27 with 2 of us. I have my own gear and 4 wheeler.

I’m OK with the money, so 2 of us. Any thoughts on rooms yet? Wife asked if we can stay away from sheephead.

I will be talking to Paul again Friday but I would think kids would not be charged full price….
If not I will take them on in my shack..no charge..

My buddies backed out. It sounds like fun and worth the price to try something new but I was just planning (a very long) day trip without the overnight stay and I’m not going to make that trip alone. It’d be like the Salmon GTG, up at 2 AM and home at midnight – those last 10 miles were painful! Problem is Milwaukee was a lot closer for me.

I know it’s early but starting to make plans. Trying to decide if we go up Fri. or Sat. Morning. What time are we heading out? Stay 1 or 2 nights.

If this is a 2 day event then we should have a meeting place at the access point onto the ice at a specific time for those that have not all ready established themselves each morning. This should be coordinated with Paul and there plans can be made for those needing assistance exiting the ice in the evening. Also, those willing to provide assistance will know what time and where to show up.

I will be arriving early on Saturday morning. Hopefully be there by daylight, but I am 4 hours away. We will be leaving sometime Monday. I think our check out time is 1100 at the hotel. Might sneak a morning excursion in on Monday as well.

As soon as you can signup the better…Paul is pretty busy this time of year so we have to make sure we have everything setup in advance….It would be great if you can make it Doug.. wave

The shacks are $160 a day + tax…4 per shack..

So your saying if I have myself and 2 of my kids

How old are your kids joe? Like I said I’ll ask about that..

As far as the actual GTG…I’m planning a 1 day event..for those who want to make it 2 or more days,we can work that out with those wanting to do so on Saturday…
I myself will be in Green Bay on Wednesday afternoon and can stay as long as I want (being retired DOES have it’s pluses wink )…So any other fishing we can try on our own..

Paul did say he would take us out first thing in the AM before his guided trips that day,so he will let us know what the starting times will be….so far the access will be out of Murphy Co park north of Sturgeon Bay about 20 miles… …Again, this price does include transportation both ways.

We should be off the ice in time to meet up afterwards for burgers and such for a rehash of the days fun…but we can always plan more of that later….
    More to follow……
