Had a nice tom fly up out of the ditch along the road. Hit the brakes out of a reaction and that slowed me down enough for a good size tom to not go ON the grill….but through my grill. Bent the hell out of everything.

Pheasant took the windshield a few years ago…….
Did that with a hen pheasant once. Hit the dang thing while on the way to go pheasant hunting, stopped the truck and couldnt find it. Got to the public area, let the dogs out, and walk around the front of the truck to find the dang thing still stuck in my grill. Glad a CO didnt come by when I pulled the dead hen out of the grill, gun in hand, wearing orange. That would have been kinda tough to explain.

I find with an appropriately sized vehicle, I can avoid most of these unfortunate moments.
