Unpopular opinion, the term snowflake is way overused and has become way too broad that I don’t even know what it means anymore.

This is true! Both “sides” call each other snowflakes its funny.

Absolutely true. Same with “cancel” culture. And triggered. And offended. They’re mean words a group will use to put the other down, then turn around and exhibit the same behavior.

Boy this will REALLY be an unpopular opinion-

Age has very little to do with work ethic and your expectations for how you fit into society and what it may or may not “owe” you.

Your parenting does. The environment you grew up in does. Whether or not you’ve had to work for things or they’ve just shown up matters.

You’re gonna see young kids who want to correct all the wrongs in the world, receive things just because someone else got them, and not work real hard.

And you’ll also see younger people who will work circles around people twice their age.

Where I’m at in life today has nothing to do with my age. It has everything to do with growing up on a farm and having awesome parents and a life where everything was a struggle but we still seemed to make a great life.

I agree 100 percent Dan. I grew up like you and I’m in my lower 30s. I’m where I am in life because of work ethic. And my parents taught me that along with respect and discipline

Its quite hilarious actually because they make themselves look so stupid. I know how snowflake started as well as “Karen” but the fact is they are used interchangeably and by everyone now. Cant even make it up.

Got a friend in Texas we call snowflake. Why? Well, if bs was snow, he’d be a blizzard. That’s why we call him snowflake.

I still stand on the definition we used from about 40 years ago for snowflakes – before the political side of crap took over. We called mindless people that were easily influenced and that had to keep up with the Jone’s a snowflake. Same people terrified to drive because there was a cloud in the sky, or were tossing cans of red paint at anyone that hunted or wore fur. Same person that never learned to back up a trailer, yet bought a bought a boat and NEVER goes into a parking lot or field somewhere to teach him/herself. Same group that bought all the fancy waders, flyrods/vest – looked pretty – them walked through the river steelheading in the exact runs you were fishing in. The same ones that cry for salt on the roads and whine because the roads are not plowed AND ITS STILL SNOWING. Think you get my point on the group of flakes I’m referring to. As for everyone else’s definition…..too many clowns in the circus to pay attention to them

Oh, I got you man. Agreed on all accounts. Its more recently become trendy with Social Media, but it was a well used term for a long time for sure.

If you bought livescope and use it to drive around and investigate every lone boat/fishhouse on the water to find fish you should find a new hobby, its clearly not about fishing to you.

    – too many people use this. It is NOT one you can easily assume. Are they mocking you, agreeing with you, or what? I HATE internet acronyms. Hard enough to understand “meaning/intentions” when communicating online.

Sick of commercials for dating sites where half the couples pictured are gay. IS that really a representation of our society? Could care less if you are but are the dating sites targeting gay couples now instead?

My wife’s sister is named Karen . Pisses my wife off to no end if you call someone a Karen in front of her.

I cannot agree more. I grew up poor as poop with nothing compared to most kids at the time and we were happy!! If I wanted to have nice shoes or athletic equipment I had to go work for it. This was when I was 12-14 years old working on a farm. I cannot explain this to someone who has not been there. I learned what hard work was young and gained so much appreciation for what I did have. Not what I didnt have. I try to drill this into my kids and is going good with one and not yet for the younger one. This is a great opinion above anyways and should be super popular.

Its comforting to know I’m not the only grumpy bassturd…….ok back to making yellow snow

If someone reimburses me for the purchase of a car/truck/boat or what the hell ever, who was the sum$@#!%& that determined it can be taxed again??? Absolute BS that an item was purchased retail, all sales tax paid, then when someone else has it it get taxed again. Just gives gov’t more of our money to waste

The Minnesota Legacy Amendment! So much money and very little to show for it.

Plenty to show for it, you just have to have your eyes open to see it.

Only you guys could turn it into snowflakes, taxes, and work ethic. Don’t even hate it.

Anyways, guide services exploit fragile fisheries and should have to abide by conservation limits and have to pay far more for licensing and permitting.

No license or permit required in Minnesota. The feds require one for certain border waters and I’m pretty sure they keep all the money.

Randy, I actually called one of my former state legislators about this same concern. Drives me crazy to pay a tax on something the government already collected on. His answer was ” It is not a tax…it is a transaction fee.”

If the walleye or bass season closes in your state, it shouldn’t be an option to go to a neighboring state to fish.

Minnesota should open up walleye season year round on some of the obscure rivers and lakes that no one fishes during the open season.
