Going to be a LONG spring,I envy those that still can launch boats in higher water.Accessing water here becomes difficult after 645.It’s either soak your axles,or possibly bang your head on the bottom of a railroad bridge. The steeper landings don’t want to give up the ice readily.
I predict between 2001 and 1965 at L/D 6.652.5
March 13, 2019 at 1:45 pm #1842935Lets make this interesting –
@beachbrian
IF Brian is willing to track this and be the official/unofficial flood judge (his sole decision is final) -Whoever nails the height without going over and the date is a tie breaker – I’ll donate 1/2 dozen blade baits of my choice.March 13, 2019 at 2:32 pm #1842954But what happens if I’m the closest? My Mom wouldn’t let me play with butter knives much less blades!
I’m in. Thanks Randy! (I was thinking about donating a pail of stink bait, but…)

Don’t worry Brian. If you win, I’ll remove the hooks
Maybe we can get James to donate a hat or any other goodies?? Stink bait??? Isn’t that for skunks and possum?
Anyone else want to toss in anything????
I’m committed. I have 1/2 dozen blades and a mystery gift in the kitty. I stand by my guess above
March 13, 2019 at 6:59 pm #1843018Which crest? The first one coming up or the second one later this spring. My prediction for the first one coming up is 21.8 in Dubuque on 4-13-19.

Before I guess here, that is a good question. There are usually multiple crests on the river. I see this cresting more than once as usual in the spring.
Maybe the August crest will be higher.
There I made it complicated.
Spring flood crest is 662.52 Winona dam 5A. April 17th 2019.
That would make it the second highest crest here.

L/D 6.652.5Epic flood number – Scott, which day?? tie breaker
Going to say April 14 this time for the initial crest. Then a long drawn out flood if the rain doesn’t quit.
March 14, 2019 at 12:52 am #1843072All I know is that one of our rivers that catches the southern area of MN is going to raise my local reservoir 30 feet within the next week according to the local news today.
I’ll toss in a half dozen crank baits to the winner. And if you call in the next 30 minutes I’ll include shipping!
March 14, 2019 at 12:55 am #1843073I’m honestly real on throwing in a 1/2 doz crank baits.
I will need a shipping address from BK through by an email or pm he has both.
March 14, 2019 at 7:32 am #1843092While walking the dog this morning and seeing the streets are flooded, I believe my guess will be too low. I would like to donate a 1/2 dozen hand tied “Mille Lacs Killer Snells”. I will mail them to Brian. Brian, no need to send me your address. I already have it from your boat access pass you posted the other day. I have photo copied the pass. Hopefully we will not be parked at the landing at the same time.
March 14, 2019 at 7:36 am #1843094Thanks for the donation and for pointing that out. (Google my name sometime lol!)
PS please do not send them to me. I’ll think it’s spam.

Posts: 95March 14, 2019 at 8:54 pm #1843353I filled 70 sandbags tonight and have them prepped and ready to go to help a few friends near the river. They anticipate they will need around 500 bags if the river hits 17’ in Wabasha to keep water off their siding.
Here’s to hoping I can spend time dumping my bags out without using them a month from now.
March 15, 2019 at 12:31 am #1843382I know nothing about this! But I’ll go with 18.2 Red Wing, April 13th. (In the billiardroom with the candlestick).

When it comes right down to it, none of us do.
