Buckybadger and I had the same idea. A thread for guessing the highest stage of the river using the gauge of your choice ending the contest on May 1st. If you’re a pro, you can add the week (or date) it will crest.

One entry only per person. First entry is the only one we’ll use.

The lucky winner that’s the closest to the official gauge without going over using the closest date as a tiebreaker, will get an “atta boy” AND
Randy will donate 1/2 dozen blade baits of his choice. (Updated 3/13)

    And there’s MORE!

Denny will toss in 1/2 dozen crankbaits to the lucky winner! (Updated 3/14)

    And there’s STILL MORE!

1/2 dozen hand tied “Mille Lacs Killer Snells from Dennis! (Updated 3/14)

    AND THERE’S STILL MORE!

One new IDO Hoodie (size to be determined) from IDO to be used for a get together that didn’t happen. Thanks Eelpout Guy!

So to get started and please try to use this format…

Red Wing Gauge, 16.3′ Date: 4/8/19 (for extra points)

    Trempealeau – TREW3
    Crest at 651.97 April 18th

For EXTRA Pnts, I guess it will return to below flood stage (647) on May 17th

Going to be a LONG spring,I envy those that still can launch boats in higher water.Accessing water here becomes difficult after 645.It’s either soak your axles,or possibly bang your head on the bottom of a railroad bridge. The steeper landings don’t want to give up the ice readily.

    I predict between 2001 and 1965 at L/D 6.652.5

    Lets make this interesting –

    @beachbrian

IF Brian is willing to track this and be the official/unofficial flood judge (his sole decision is final) -Whoever nails the height without going over and the date is a tie breaker – I’ll donate 1/2 dozen blade baits of my choice.

But what happens if I’m the closest? My Mom wouldn’t let me play with butter knives much less blades!

I’m in. Thanks Randy! (I was thinking about donating a pail of stink bait, but…)

Before I guess here, that is a good question. There are usually multiple crests on the river. I see this cresting more than once as usual in the spring.

Maybe the August crest will be higher.

    There I made it complicated.

Spring flood crest is 662.52 Winona dam 5A. April 17th 2019.

That would make it the second highest crest here.

Going to say April 14 this time for the initial crest. Then a long drawn out flood if the rain doesn’t quit.

All I know is that one of our rivers that catches the southern area of MN is going to raise my local reservoir 30 feet within the next week according to the local news today.

I’ll toss in a half dozen crank baits to the winner. And if you call in the next 30 minutes I’ll include shipping! jester

While walking the dog this morning and seeing the streets are flooded, I believe my guess will be too low. I would like to donate a 1/2 dozen hand tied “Mille Lacs Killer Snells”. I will mail them to Brian. Brian, no need to send me your address. I already have it from your boat access pass you posted the other day. I have photo copied the pass. Hopefully we will not be parked at the landing at the same time.

Thanks for the donation and for pointing that out. (Google my name sometime lol!)

PS please do not send them to me. I’ll think it’s spam.

I filled 70 sandbags tonight and have them prepped and ready to go to help a few friends near the river. They anticipate they will need around 500 bags if the river hits 17’ in Wabasha to keep water off their siding.

Here’s to hoping I can spend time dumping my bags out without using them a month from now.
