Gonna throw this out to see who would be up for it…

    The dates:Feb 28 and Mar 1
    The water:The great Green Bay
    The species:Whitefish,Walleye or Perch

This is a great fishery…The Whitefish are willing biters, hard fighters and great table fare. There are also some BIG Walleyes in the bay with the better bites being sunup and sundown so a guy could fish wally’s in the morning and get a limit of whites during the day(which happens on a regular basis)and go out again for walleyes at dusk.

Since it is still early, the exact location is yet to be determined, but we will probably start out in the Sturgeon Bay area as a start.
It all depends on how many people want to do something like this before we can work out some details..

Please reply if you want do this smile and we will start planning…

Sounds like fun but it’s a bit too far for me to go for this.
If there are thoughts of doing another GTG a bit closer to the twin cities I might be game.

Sharpen your hooks on those #3 Rapala jigging shad raps in black and gold. The whitefish feed on gobies and are turned on by this color.

    I am on board.

Good way to spend my €£ birthday.

I will have a pretty good line on what is happening.

I would anticipate the whitefish being deep, 30 and deeper.

Good bait choices will be jigging Shad raps, whitefish rigs and anything that imitates gobies.

Jigs and plastic are a good choice and what I will be working most of the time.

    Pm me for more info.

Mentioned it to the wife and she is already scouting out hotels!!! Looks like it is a definite go for me. I finish my 24 hour shift at 0800 on the 28th and will be coming up later that morning. I will be bringing my 4 wheeler as well.

If you are looking for a place to stay I’ve stayed at the Sand Bay Resort. Nice place to stay and fish cleaning house. Ice house rentals and the owner Dale S. guides also http://sandbaybeach.com/

I’m in…if I can get a ride out on the ice. I’ll throw some of my world famous chili in for the ride.

I’m too much of a puzzy to take my truck on the ice, and too much of a lazy ass to walk.

FYI. Dale and his wife at Sand Bay Beach Resort do have/offer special packages for the fishermen/women that stay there. They’re SUPER people and always willing to share good information. Even if you don’t stay there, they’ll do their best to direct you to where the bite is hottest and what’s working. It’s just the way they are. Even though I probably won’t be able to make it. I thought I needed to share this information with my IDO brothers and sisters.

Same to you Wats….Let us know how the hotel search goes…did you look at Sand Bay Resort at all?

As far as the questions about wheelers go…..by that time the ice should be plenty good….

I am a brand new participant but I have been watching the show for a few seasons now. I even got a “fun” job at a bait shop to get deeper into ice fishing. I would definitely make the hike from Madtown (Madison). Can NEWBS join in?
