Unloading a Bunk

I unload a 21 foot glass boat by myself all the time. This is my process.
I attach a 20 foot rope to my front cleat on the bow. I back down to the waters edge, just able to keep my feet dry and unhook safety chain and winch strap. I then take the attached rope and walk down the dock and tie it to the dock cleat. I then finish backing (slowly) into the water until my boat floats off trailer. I then put my truck in park and walk down the dock to grap my attached rope and pull the boat up to the dock and tie it to the dock. Park the truck and walk down ramp get in the boat start it up, unhook rope from dock and drive away. Works well

Friendly reminder if it’s possible to move your rig to the other side of the dock before pulling out.

Been too many times guy does many what describe here then leave it right smack dab in the launch lane having everyone else wait for them to park, gather their last minute items and walk back to their boat while everyone is stuck watching.

Not every launch you’re able to, every situation is different, but if it’s possible just take that nice boat and move er out of the way waytogo

Yes, I agree, thank you bringing that up. Happens a lot on Lake Minnetonka even though the docks right next to the ramps have big red signs that say “no parking – launch and load only” and there’s literally 3 other docks out of the way to tie up while you go park.

100% this. Yesterday I had a yakker taking up a launch because she couldn’t figure out how to get in the damn thing. jester

I think honeslty it’d take me just as much time to back the boat off the trailer move it to the other side then tie it off then it would be just leaving it tied in the ramp depending on how far I have to go to park . I usually jog back if there’s a line .
