Unknown Boat Part

    I am getting the boat ready for a trip up to the rainy river and I came across this loose part in my boat. Anyone know what it goes to?! I have a mercury 4-stroke and a tracker v175 combo

    Looks like a cowling positioning part.

    look in the back bottom of the motor cowl I think it’s a drain type plug ,1 of mine came loose it just stuffs in a bigger hole good luck

    I was able to find a mercury motor diagram/parts manual and I believe the part is for a bumper latch inside the top cowl. Part 815477. Thanks for the replies!
