Sweet video!
What are you using to get the Rapalas and camera down to 30 feet?
Thanks guys, and im using a water wolf camera with the heaviest weight they provide, then I use the 30 ft diving Rapala and let out plenty of line. I dont think it makes it all the way down to 30 ft but forsure 20 ft
Quite the reminder of how long some of those fish followed the bait, just looking for a reason to react. Seemed like the hits came from reactions where they were not following it at all.
I have a couple of buddies that just bought water wolfs. They fish Superior often. They run them off of the downrigger. They have some pretty cool video of the Lake Trout interacting with the spoon. With the clear water you can see a long ways. It is crazy how fast the Lakers can go when they are chasing the spoon.
As Chuck stated, it was really interesting to see how many and how long they followed. It was no different than the footage I have been seeing of lake trout. This stuff is great to see in order to make changes to your presentation to trigger strikes.

oh nice nice I have some lake trout footage as well. And am working on a video. I trolled for lake trout using spoons and similar 30ft divers. They are super fast and I found for about every 6 you see you hook one.
But I don’t wanna see all the walleye that DON’T hit my line…that’s just a slap in the face! But a great way to learn how fish respond to different speeds, movements and even cranks! I might have to look into one! Great video.

That is crazy to only hook 1 out of 6. I imagine the walleye ratio is similar. I am sure they are working on it, but if it was a live feed and you could try to make adjustments to trigger a strike that would be even better. I have seen some videos of some guys using the Garmin Panoptics to have real time interaction. Pretty cool technology.
We trolled downriggers on Lake of the Woods in early August for walleye. We marked fish like crazy on locator, but only caught a few. I plan on having a Water Wolf along next year to try out. Hopefully the water clarity is good enough to get good video.
Seems like a pause or a pump in the retrieve would have gotten more to connect
