This is how I feel about Gilespe

He brought me into fishing. When I didn’t know what was what, and was just starting out, he shows that consistently there are fish out there to be caught. He gets excited about even small fish, cause that’s what its about some times. He Hires guides that are familiar with the waters he goes to, and shows how they know their stuff. As someone from the mid west, I can appreciate the exposure for those guides and fishing in general.
As I have become more of a knowledgeable fisherman I find myself less satisfied with the show. When I see the fish being held out of the water for so long, and the constant (for lack of a better word) whoring of the big fish “Hold it up to the camera!!” John pushing the fish closer, asking a clearly uncomfortable guest “Howd that feel??!” Im more interested in seeing the fish get caught. What they are using, how they rigged. Found the spot. etc. Id watch a show with Pete and Tex in an instant, lol. They should Let John Retire. Plus it seems this winter that there was some less than sportsman like talk about John and Larry on Bago with that huge Walleye they pulled through the ice on camera. Something about catching those fish, then getting them back in the water on stingers so they can pull them up later for website pictures with the guests. That’s why the fish didn’t fight much when caught on TV. who knows if that is all true though.. Just the facebook gossip.

As far as uncut angling, these guys are the future. Love em. Everything I want to see. Technique, big fish, Varity of species, and keep it fun with stuff like this
