My uncle from Minnesota came out to visit for a few weeks…He’s one of the biggest reasons why I love fishing so much so it’s always good to get some lines out and exchange fishing stories and tips.

We got out and hit some new spots along the river that I’ve never fished before and had some pretty good success. Caught Browns mostly, and a lone rainbow and lone cutbow.

We walked about a half mile stretch and found various pockets, side currents, and a few pools with bites coming in most places. Lost a lot this day lol. Slow cranking and jerk fishing with 3-4 second pauses seemed to register most of the bites. I was of course using the ole faithful dynamic lures HD Trout and J-Spec, my uncle caught his fish using a slow sinking Rapala that was chartreuse with a red face.

Spring will be here soon, can’t wait for the bite to heat up and the water to start flowing more!!

Sorry to here about Cheyenne. There has been a few accidents on 70 this year. We saw one a week ago last Sunday where a small car got the front ran over by a semi trailer just out of DeBeque canyon. Not sure what happen to that driver. Prayers for her recovery. And sorry for the loss of her dog. Dude we still need to hook up on a float this year maybe upper CO River if you are interested. Clad to see that you have picked up the fly rod. Throwing those minnow baits catch the fish We are heading for the Henry’s fork end of may to hopefully hit the salmon fly hatch this year.

I-70 can be so dangerous during winter. Just happy she is alive. Appreciate the support! We’ll have to link up for sure man! Send me a message so we can see if we can coordinate something.
