Ultrex (not Ulterra) remote upside down

Had posted this on another site and didn’t get much of a response so thought I’d try here…

Anyone have the new Ultrex motor (not to be confused with the Ulterra). If so, have you noticed if you wear the remote on a lanyard around your neck or on a carribeaner on your belt (like I do) that the remote is upside down?

You can only connect the lanyard to one end of the remote and so when it hangs down everything is backwards. Anyone else noticed this? Anyone figured out a work around?

After years of using a Terrova iPilot remote this pretty much sucks. (However spot-lock is much improved)

Seems like when you grab it and use your thumb that it’s the correct orientation? This is my first remote control unit and I still seem to use the cable drive more than the remote. It is fun messing with the boy though when he’s up front and I got the remote in the back.

Unless it’s hanging down from your neck or belt then it’s upside down and you grab it and everything is backwards. You hit the go left button but go right and vice versa. Totally different than the other remote products Minnkota has had to n the past.

Ok, it’s been pointed out to me that at the opposite end of the remote there is a narrow opening just under the battery charging port. The lanyard tie will fit in there and provided there is no rubbing or damage to the charging port – problem may be solved. Good to teach this old dog a new trick – thx

Not sure if you have the link touchscreen remote or not but if you do you can flip the screen upside down in the one of the menus. And when you do that it makes the rubber buttons opposite as well.

Post a pic of your remote on IDO. That should fix your problem. whistling
