The power went low/out on my Ulterra while on the river. After a little scramble getting the big motor down and back under control in the fast current,.. I set an anchor in a current seam. Then we realized that this isn’t just a speed bump because we can’t stow it without power. I tried the remote and it lit up and then went blank again. I hit the on/off switch on the motor with no response. How would we get back up the fast current and how would we get back on the trailer. After some messing around I got it fired up and it partially stowed and then finally stowed. In retrospect,…I suppose I could have slid the whole thing off the sliding mount. At home,..Batteries checked out strong, a little corrosion but not bad on the terminals, screws tightened a tiny bit on the male plug and a little again on the female plug terminals. There is a big Buss 60 amp fuse with a yellow arm that was out. The motor lights up now but am wondering if the fuse should be replaced?? Not sure what else can go wrong unless the wires from the last battery to the front of the boat somehow got frayed. Thoughts?? Thanks

No thoughts on whats wrong but. You Tube how to stow the thing if you have problems. Make sure you have those tools in the boat at all times. If you don’t have a smart phone or won’t have internet where you fish print the instructions out and put into a plastic bag with the required tools, just in case.

Thanks Dutch Boy. I wonder if the remote battery is shot. I get a flashing battery symbol in the upper left of the remote. Took the back cover off and it looks like a specialty battery is needed. This motor seems a bit too complicated for an old guy.

Do you charge it between uses? Mine has a charger and i always plug in at the end of the day. Mine is a 2016 i think.

A friend had one malfunction on the river last year. We looked online to reset it and it worked again for a while. It did it again later and a reset got it working. After the trip was done he brought it in under warranty and it needed to be rebuilt.

Guess what I found in the glove box,…a charger cord. I bought the boat used and wasn’t told (or didn’t remember) about this. Thanks Dutch BOY!
