Not sure how many UFC / MMA fans we have on this site. I’ve been a big MMA fan for a long time. I was really looking forward to UFC 300. To be honest I was a little disappointed in the Lineup they had for such a big event. I decided not to order it on pay preview. Was there anyone here who got to watch it on Pay preview ? Just curious what you thought about the fights.

I was looking forward to seeing Kayla Harrisons first fight in the UFC. That women is a animal. It was a little sad that they matched her up against Holly Holm. Holy has not looked like her old self for a few fights now. I would have liked to see Harrison matched up against someone a little more in their prime. That said I’m not sure there are many women who can stand in the cage with Harrison.

Bo Nickal did what I thought he would do. I think he will end up being a great fighter in time. Just not sure yet if he can take a hit or not. Like they say a lot of guys are tough till they get hit. I’d really like to see him fight a person ranked in or near the top 10 next fight. He seems to be in no hurry, but I think he should be, Lots of hype around him.

The Oliveira Tsarukyan fight ended up about as I expected. I think Charles best days are behind him. Be interesting to see who Tsarukyan fights next.

Gatethje Holloway fight lived up to the BMF billing. This was a fight I picked wrong. Holloway was better than I thought. Got to give it to him, He was clearly in the lead and could have just coasted in the final round. Got to love he was willing to stand in the middle of the ring and slug it out till the end. That was a Vicious knockout. the way a fight for the BMF should end.

Zhang Xiaonan was not a fight that should have been a co-main event on suck a big card. It ended up about like I thought it would. Zhang is just so well rounded in all areas.

The Pereira Hill fight lasted way shorter than I though t it would. I would like to have seen it go longer. I think that would have favored Hill. But give Pereira credit. He’s beat some of the biggest names in the business in a short time.

Not as many MMA fans on here as I thought there may be. I’m really looking forward to watching the whole Gaethje and Holloway fight. If the rest of that fight is a 1/1000 of what the final 10 seconds was like it was a great fight.

It was good. Glad I ordered it. Charles had some moments not sure what you did or didn’t see. I thought Max was done…looked like he turned the clock back on that fight. Holly needs to retire

All I saw was a few highlights and read a few reviews of it. I just think Charles is just not the fighter he once was. Then again his last 2 losses were against some real tough guys so maybe i’m wrong.

I’m a pretty casual UFC observer but I watched the main card live.

The guy fed to Bo Nickal had no chance against his wrestling. Seemed like Nickal wanted to try something besides wrestling but when it didn’t happen right away he resorted to wrestling where he’s clearly world class.

I think you’re right Oliveira is past his prime. He had 2 good sub attempts that he couldn’t quite finish. It’s too bad because he was one of the most exciting guys to watch, very entertaining style. The guy he was fighting just took him down and laid on him, landed a flurry of elbows at one point but otherwise just laid on him. I don’t like how the judges favor wrestling takedowns and ground control so much, boring to watch.

Holloway/Gaethje was pure kickboxing and Holloway was the obvious better boxer and controlled the fight. Gaethje landed some brutal leg kicks but Holloway broke his nose to end the 1st round. The ending was insane, Holloway was cruising to the obvious unanimous decision win… Gaethje was beat to a pulp… And then Max called him to the center and put him to sleep right at the horn. Absolutely wild.

Zhang put Yan to sleep with a rear choke at the end of the first round. Full on out but she never tapped and the bell sounded before the ref called it. Somehow Yan managed to sit up and make it to her corner while still half sleeping and they let her continue the fight. Yan had some moments in the middle rounds but Zhang changed tactics and mostly dominated the fight.

Pereira is a scary dude, it’s like he has explosives in his gloves or something. They were jabbing and feeling each other out half way through the first and then he half lands 1 punch and Hill is out. My question is has anyone ever wrestled Pereira? Every highlight or clip I see of him it’s guys trying to box him and he just lights them up. Maybe it’s a matchup thing and the UFC is only putting him against other kickboxers IDK

Guys on this site only like to fight about politics or if Dutch starts a controversial friday night fight.

I started a thread last Saturday and didn’t see you there?

Lots of good fights but no great fights booked for various reasons. Bones tore his pec, Khabib and Izzy retired for now, Conner couldn’t lay off the coke and other big names had other reasons.

Oliviera is done. He may fall off the cliff like Ferguson? The BMF fight might be one of the best of the decade. Gaetje has and always will be one of the toughest of all time but Max caught him in the temple with 1 second left. Talk about a climactic finish!

HW division is pretty bad right now but plenty of good competition in the other divisions.

I watch about 80% of the PPV events. Still waiting for Zuck to get after it with Elon!

Sorry I missed the post. I’m normally not on IDO much on weekend. Looks like more fans here that I originally thought.

not really…..i think like 2 others were up watching. UFC would have more viewers if it was not PPV. they go on ESPN+ but you have to pay for that too. too bad its not like the old UFC with no weight classes. those were some savage fights back in the Ken Shamrock days. seems like they really need a few guys/gals to step up and carry the sport.
