IMO this is crazy. And then the researcher falls through the ice! Definitely had a better chance of that happening than catching covid from deer!

I’ll eat a deer that tests positive for covid anyday before I eat something from McDonald’s. That’s the stuff they should really be warning you about.
I don’t think you can get it from actually eating the deer. The virus is spread via respiratory airborne transmission. Maybe just avoid hanging out with a herd of deer indoors.
