Money grab, that’s what the Paul’s do and they are good at it. Tyson is reported to profit 20mill off this fight
I want the fight to be legitimate and an all out brawl…but I have a feeling that may not be the case. There’s so much money involved win or lose, that it’s hard to really have that same drive involved as if a guy is fighting for a title (and the corresponding wealth).
The rounds have been amendmended to be only 2 minutes instead of 3, with only 8 total rounds versus 10. They also are wearing heavier gloves than the standard issued ones. These changes make me feel like we will be watching more of a “cute” fight than something I grew up loving to watch and follow – but hopefully I am wrong.

WWE is more legitmate thanboxingthe NBA.Fixed.
100%
While I’d love to see a semblance of the Tyson of old, all these Paul fights are questionable at best, if not outright and openly fixed. I assume Tyson getting “caught” has already been predetermined, and couldn’t care less to watch it.
Look if you haven’t seen Tyson rip off somebodies body part with his bare teeth on live TV this might be your last chance.
Tyson is almost 60. He has no business taking a blow to the head. Sure would like to see him catch Paul with an uppercut though.
Its all just a money grab but I will probably watch it over watching my Badgers get slaughtered by Oregon. Can only hope Mike connects a quick one and knocks this idiot out cold.
Would love to see Paul get his ass knocked out, but doubt it will happen. He’s just way to old to be in a ring with someone this much younger.
Some of the Lines associated with the fight:
Paul to Win (-245)
Tyson to Win (+195)
Over/Under is set at 5.5 rounds.
My gut tells me to go with Paul and the “over”. Father time is undefeated. A 27 year old fighting a 58 year old is absurd. The exhibition dance/fight that Tyson had with Roy Jones Jr. back during the Covid stuff sure made it appear like both Tyson and Jones were there for the money and less the outcome.
Paul’s plan is to go late into the fight before taking any chances. Problem is Tyson knows that’s his strategy as well and might just let him do it saving his own energy until late. Tyson has 30 years more experience in how to judge his opponents tactics, and you better believe he did his homework before this fight. Everyone always thought he was just a punching idiot but he knows how to approach each fight.
These types of fights are all about the benjamins… my guess is that it ends controversially so they get double the $ for the eventual rematch that the other fighter wins setting up the end all, be all final match…in the end they get ya for 3 fights…
Tyson said this yesterday:
“There are no feelings attached,” Tyson said. “My own mother should be very careful if she has to get in the ring with me. When it’s over, it’s over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, or he is in trouble.”
That’ll give you chills. I hope we get the old Iron Mike and he eviscerates Jake Paul. That’d be a win for us old guys.
if you believe the NBA is fixed, but MLB or NHL are not, I find that pretty naive. With the widely legal gambling situation we have now, it’s either all fixed or not at all. Too much money at stake.
The problem I have with the NBA is star players sitting out. You dont see that in MLB or NHL. They play every game they are healthy. Has Embiid even played this year? That is definitely messing with his teams performance. From my knowledge his only injury is between his ears.
I have to believe the fight is going to be very fake. UNLESS Tyson goes off the deep end. He’s not all there in the head and never has been but that would likely lose him lots of money which I’m guessing he desperately needs.
I won’t even watch this with my pirate eye patch. Mike is a legend but this is just a paycheck for him. No chance for a 58 year old Mike to take out Jake. Prove me wrong

How could one prove you wrong ? Seems like a odd thing to say.
Everyone always thought he was just a punching idiot…
Uhh… no.
I have to wonder why they went with heavier gloves? THat would seem to be a disadvantage for the old fart to me.
All about the $$$$$$
Paying celebrities to go to the fight and charging up to 50k for tickets. What a sham.
This was pretty funny: Jake Paul fight opponent after Mike Tyson CONFIRMED by Tony Bellew
I heard on KFAN yesterday that 90% of the bets are going towards Tyson and kinda surprising but maybe people are just caught up in Mike’s Heydays. I think Tyson has to knock him out quick and if he doesnt Paul will win it. I sure hope Tyson does!
Its already been decided who should win behind closed doors. Basically a WWE event for some entertainment

In boxing, more weight = more padding in the gloves to lessen the force on the receiving end. The weight they will be using tonight is more geared towards sparring/training. This gives a big hint to what kinds of “rules” may be in play behind the scenes.
I will be tuning in and rooting for Tyson, but I highly doubt the general public is privileged to some of the behind the scenes “rules” that are also in play. For those that are expecting some late 80s/early 90s barrage of violent punches and swollen faces with blood on the mat…they could be very disappointed.
Heart says Tyson. Head says the 27 year old.
They’re going to blow peoples minds when Holyfield comes out from backstage as Tyson’s tag team partner half way through the second round
