Since I am less than thrilled with the performance of my 1199siHD… I heard something from someone about running two side imaging ducers on either side of your boat… Has anyone heard about this? Supposedly this gives you a clear DOWN IMAGING picture? Since there is non currently.

Also if I ripped off my old SI ducer.. Can I buy a DI ducer and plug that in to the 1199si,? or just only good for DI unit only?

Couple things, Yes you can run 2 si ducers and it will give you a clearer picture and more detail. If your looking to get a higher quality DI picture a DI ducer is the way to go. As for running a DI ducer to the 1199SI i cant say for sure if that will work or not. I will do a little checking and see if i can find and answer and let you know.

Here is the setup on my Lund I/O. I run an 1198 and a 998

The difference is that they show a thru hull high speed ducer where I use the transom mounted one.

I have twin HDSI transducers on my Skeeter. The only thing it really clears up is the opposite side that is shooting thru the turbulence at the bottom of the boat and all the other stuff that it has to send signal thru.

I dont use DI, so I dont know if Twin xducers will help that image or not.If I had to guess, I would say no. it would not improve your DI images..

For me cause of an I/O drive, Mine has completely stopped losing depth for any condition water condition while underway. As for the SI I can see what I was missing. Full detail for what was intended to be seen. So I can say finial after this change (tho I don’t know of anything better) it works per design.
