Never fished the lake before, just in the area this coming weekend and looking to get out on the ice. Any intel would be appreciated, ice conditions, areas to try, north or south end, general depth ranges to focus on, etc. Looking for crappies and walleye mostly, but wouldn’t mind getting on some gills or pike either.

    Thanks,
    Tight lines y’all

Watch out for the narrows straight out from the access. Lots of current, unpredictable ice.

Any decent fishing on the south end of the lake? I’ve heard crappies on the north end, but no info on the south.

I haven’t been out there this year yet. Before the forecast I was planning on going this weekend. Several years back it was pretty good on the south end but hasn’t been much for 5 plus years. I would assume they are driving to the north end, just stay left, don’t go by the point. If I hear something before the weekend I will let you know.

Much appreciated. I was considering trying the break line off the point just in from the area I highlighted. See if I can find fish somewhere between 20′ and 30’feet.

There was supposed to be a photo with that post. Not sure why it didn’t post.

I would think somewhere across this basin up to this saddle and point would have crappie. Not sure what else you would target out there.

I’m no longer in the area but it usually gets hit pretty hard so you should have some tracks to follow out. RKB is right though the ice can be VERY sketchy in spots so I wouldn’t plan on venturing off tracks without checking the ice. Especially this year.

cpf792, I’m not sure about the area you have marked, I’ve never seen to many houses in that area. On your map were the e&r are in “Rivers” I have had some success. At the beginning of the west basin the drainage coming from the north is Maus’s creek. In front of there and slightly to the east have had success for crappies and walleyes, also in the fall straight across, from the point to the mouth of two rivers. The hump on the north part seems to always have some sunfish and crappies or by the inflow from the east side. Good luck, let us know how you do.
