Not to good of a secret here on Ido, but they both started here.

Had it not been for the peeps on IDO, I wouldn’t have known what a flathead catfish or a lake sturgeon was much less guide for them.

The Sturdiwheat company was right under my nose and didn’t know it until they advertised with us. Since then I’ve come to know the good people at Sturdiwheat personally and professionally.

Question on the Sturdiwheat Cajun mix… Do you know if it has msg in it? The “Shore Lunch” Cajun does and on trips to Canada I’m poppin’ Tums the whole time. Love the taste though —

Great news… looking forward to trying it. I’ll switch it out for the annual group fishing trip to Rainy Lake this Fall. I won’t tell the guys but they’ll wonder why they aren’t as gassy any more! shock

Well that won’t be any fun! Add beans to the menu…to cover the smell I mean. LOL!

Unless you take away the beer and someone’s “famous northwoods” chili, you will still have a gassy camp!
BK, you’re promotional plugs are effective. After seeing some of your previous posts, I have ordered an assortment of Sturdiwheat items. They even included a free sample of pancake mix, bet it goes great with Spam! Did they package/sell their product under the “Red Wing” pottery brand? Some years ago I picked some of that up down in Red Wing and suspect that Sturdiwheat made the fish batter mix. Red Wing pottery makes pottery…right?

Well hey! I hope you find them as easy and good as our family does.
Campers (not like my camper but the real campers with tents) love those smaller sample packs. Packaged in foil, add water, mix and on to the griddle it goes! Add some homemade maple syrup and it’s nap time for this ol fart (sorry, just trying to keep the thread intact ) )!!

I’ll ask the Sturdiwheat folks about the Pottery Brand. Sounds like it was before my time.

Since you are retiring as a guide at the end of the year, maybe a food wagon is in your future?

Red nose, Superman suit, Spam, Sturdiwheat? Maybe a 3/2 license and you can sell a Hamms to wash it down?

Better idea……….lets set you up on a pontoon and you can cruise the river?

    Watcha think?

I can say we’ve worked with local pottery companies (there have been a few) for gift item inclusions in our respective stores/catalogs. Here is a Red Wing Stoneware batter bowl included in one of our popular gift baskets. https://www.sturdiwheat.com/store/batters-up.html

Brian, I think I’ve answered my own question. The Red Wing Pottery brand I picked up maybe ten years ago. That brand looks like it’s no longer offered but here is their pancake mix that is in the identical packaging and is made by Sturdiwheat. I would wager that the fish batter was made by them as well. These are important things to know… wink

Edit; Not sure why the link is not working, maybe blocked. Go to Red Wing Stoneware and Pottery website, click-shop, click on food and you’ll see it.

Learning more on Ido by accident then other places by design.

WS do NOT try the maple syrup from Sturdiwheat! It’s $7. a bottle and once you try it, you’ll go broke buying it.
There is no syrup worth $7.00! I have 4 bottles. doah

I am but a simple man, but Sturdiwheat buckwheat pancakes, with fresh picked blueberries and maple syrup, along with a hot cup of coffee on the shore of a BWCA lake in the early morning, is one of life’s absolutely finer moments! coffee
